Granite
Granite is a natural stone and is naturally beautiful. It is considered a substantial upgrade for your kitchen countertops and bathroom vanity counter top when compared to products such as Cultured Marble, Formica and Corian.
Your granite countertop is one of the oldest natural stones in the world and was formed when the Earth was cooling from its hot molten state. It is a very hard product. In some cases it is harder than steel. The process of fabricating granite is very difficult. It must first be extracted from a mountain in a large block form, then cut and polished with diamonds and water. Lastly, it must be packaged and delivered in the form of a kitchen counter top, bathroom vanity top or other complete product. Natural Marble is another beautiful product. But we don't recommend Marble on bathroom counters or vanity top because it is sensitive to chemicals and softer than a knife. The Marble's polish will etch and leave the surface dull if contacted with acids. Such acids are found in soft drinks, perfumes, hair spray, makeup, and many cleaning products. None of these chemicals will harm natural granite kitchen countertops and granite bathroom vanity tops. Should granite be sealed? Though some choose not to seal their granite, we recommend that your seal your natural granite countertops at least twice a year. We believe granite is the best choice for today's home countertop surfaces because it is durable, naturally beautiful and the industry's #1, first-class product.
